Come join us as we celebrate the Barony of Starkhafn's Yule at the winter court of Richard III! The year is 1483 and Richard has been King since late summer, with his lovely wife and Queen, Anne Neville, by his side. Shake out your brocades and furs and show your allegiance to the House of York or the House of Lancaster.
Upon arriving at the site, you will be given a site token marked with either a red or a white rose and there will be a number of intellectual challenges throughout the day to see who will triumph after feast, the White rose or the Red.
In addition to the intellectual War of the Roses, there will be a garb contest (with a prize going to the best garb from the era of the War of the Roses, documentation strongly recommended) and a table decorating contest, with the prize going to the best War of the Roses themed table. Artisans are invited to display their works during the day and there will be a people's choice award for best A&S item at the end of the evening. And in Starkhafn Tradition, Someone Special will make an appearance during the evening bearing gifts for our younger attendees.
A feast of succulent winter comfort foods to tempt your palate will be followed by an evening's dancing.
While you do not need to prepay, you WILL need to make a reservation for feast, as we will have a set cutoff number. Please make feast reservations to the Feast Coordinator listed below.
This weekend will also be the Barony's final collection of Toys for Tots. A new, unwrapped toy will gain each entrant $1.00 off the site fee. A silent auction is also planned.
Be sure to plan to stay for fighter practice on Sunday morning at Lorenzi Park. We generally have a nice mix of fighters from several Kingdoms stay for practice. It is a good opportunity to interact with fighters you might not see otherwise. We will also have a Toys for Tots collection point set up - as this will be the final day for that.
If you would like to arrange crash space, please contact the autocrat.
