Conquest is a non profit organization that recreates the Anglo-Norman period of English history
from the Battle of Hastings up until the signing of the Magna Carta (1066 to 1215AD).
The society does not attempt to cover the whole period of 1066 to 1215, but
has selected three
time lines in order to better concentrate research efforts and to ensure
accuracy. Much like the
SCA, Conquest members give demonstrations of camp life of an Anglo-Norman army
on campaign, though historical accuracy is paramount. The web site has
infomation on the history
and culture of the time period, as well as the poems that shaped the ideals of
the code of medieval
chivalry: The Song of Roland and the Poema Del Cid.
