Hobby turns to career for Washington armorer

Idaho Falls, WA resident Nute Scott used to just think that armoring in the SCA was kind of fun. Now he makes a living at it by selling suits of armor at Renaissance Fairs. Matthews Evans of the Olympia, Washington Olympian has the story.

Armoring is hard work and Scott now has the physique to prove it. According to the article, Scott's right biceps is an inch bigger than his left, and his right forearm is three-quarters of an inch bigger than the left one." Scott quips, "I'm turning into a mutant."

A full suit of armor costs between US$2,000 and $5,000, and Scott sells out. He also sells single pieces.
