Hail Oertha! Prinz Karl Helweg and Prinzessin Elisa von Sophey cordially invite you to a very Landsknecht Coronet, to be held the 17th and 18th of January, 2009 at University of Alaska Anchorage’s Student Union, in the Den.
Site will be open from 10 AM until 10 PM on Saturday and from 10 AM until 6 PM Sunday
Site fee will be set as follows:
Adults - $20
Children under 12 - $15
Family Cap to be set at $70 (2 adults and 2 children)
Site fee includes feast and a morning and lunch sideboard both days
The UAA Student Union is located on Providence Drive in Anchorage, Alaska. From Lake Otis, take a left on Providence, and left again on Seawolf Drive, then the first right into the parking lot. The Den is located on the ground floor at the far end of the student union. Signs will be posted to make clear the event’s location. Site is dry, please do not bring alcohol. If you wish to present a libation to share, we invite you to bring it to the post-revel.
Mistress Anne will be preparing a scrumptious feast for the enjoyment of the populace. More information on this will be available as Coronet draws near.
A post-revel will be held at the home of Hans de Plorable , Playne Clover Foxfield, and Chu Long on Saturday evening. Directions to the post-revel will be available on site.
Arts and Sciences Contest Information:
There will be eight Arts and Sciences Contests at Coronet.
- His Highness’ Whim – Dress a fighter. Includes both the fighter's armor and
garments (overall appearance). His Highness would prefer for the fighter to
be there and show off during one of the tournaments, but those who are not
able to attend can send in a photo album (hard copy please). The person(s)
who did most of the work are the entrants, which means non-fighters are
welcome to enter by dressing a victim, er, fighter. Points added for
historical accuracy and documentation.
- Her Highness’ Whim – Best period use of lavender (the flower). Points added
for historical documentation.
- Autocrats’ Whim – Research Papers, Yay! Please include a bibliography and
remember to cite your sources.
- Two Ministry of Arts and Sciences contests: Carved Items and Bookmarks in
- Two contests sponsored by the Shire of Hrafnsfjord, Illuminated documents
for laurels only and Illuminated documents no laurels need apply
- A contest sponsored by the Ivory Thimble Guild, the details of which will be announced at a later date.
Reservations will be accepted starting October 1st. To make a reservation, email the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org. Pre-registration is not required in order to attend the event; however, it is appreciated as it helps the Mistress of the Kitchens to know about how many she will be serving.
