Come and participate in heavy fighting, archery, thrown weapons, fencing, classes, games and feasting.

Gate opens: Friday, Sept 12 at 4:00 PM
Gate closes: Sunday, Sept 14 at Noon

Site Fees (apply the $3 non-member surcharge to gate entrance as appropriate)
Day-tripping Saturday only: $5
Tent-camping per person: $8/night

Feast:
13 years old and above: $12
Children under 13: $6
Lap-sitters: Free

NOTE: Everyone must sign in at the gate before participating at the event. Anyone under 18 must have a parent on-site with them.

Site Information:
This is a fully handicapped accessible site with no stairs. Sorry - No pets are allowed. Ground fires are allowed with use of fire-ring provided by camp. The site is discreetly wet - no visible mundane containers are permitted during the day. Showers and washer/dryer available for use. The site also offers the use of a fishing lake (catch and release), volleyball, horseshoes, game room, and a playground.

Trailer camping sites are available. Please contact the event site directly for arrangements/cost. State that you are with the SCA event. You will not be charged an additional event site fee if you are trailer camping. Bring your campsite receipt to the Gate Keeper when signing in.

Lunch Tavern:
There will be a lunch tavern provided, hosted by House Gryphon's Rest. Hours of operation are 11 am to 1 pm.

Onsite picnic areas are available as well as nearby offsite food services.

A&S Junkyard Wars:
Test your creative skills! Build an Arts and Sciences project on site, using only the materials provided, on a theme to be announced at the start of the contest. The contest will run from noon to 4 pm in the barn. It will be judged by populace vote from 4 to 5 pm, and the winner will be announced at feast.

Contributions of junk are needed prior to the event. If you would like to donate some arts and sciences materials you have no further use for, contact the event steward.

Bardic Competition:
To be held on Saturday night, one hour after the conclusion of Feast, roughly around dark. All contestants should sign up - there will be a limited number of performers, so get on the list early! (Sign up sheet will be at the Gate). Each Bard will perform two pieces to demonstrate depth and breadth of bardic abilities. ALL BARDIC ARTS ARE ELIGIBLE.

Non-competitors should have the opportunity to perform at various times at the discretion of the Master of Ceremonies (Conall).

The winner will become the Shire's Bard for the year (as in years past). In the event an out of area competitor wins, the title will go to the next in line from within the Shire.

Prizes will be awarded - TBD by Conall. Judging will work differently this year, and will involve members of the audience, so please come and watch! You may become part of the show. For judging details contact Conall directly.

Archery:
Range open Saturday for general populace use:
9 AM to 11:30 AM
(closed half hour for lunch)
12 PM to 5 PM

If we have any archers who have built a crossbow, and they are willing, the range will be closed for a time to allow a introductory class on crossbow making.

Thrown Weapons:

Directions:
Take your best route to I-80 and State Route 7 (Exit 234: Hubbard, OH). Follow Route 7 north (watch for Y split, Route 7 veers off to the left, across the opposing traffic lanes) approximately one mile to Chestnut Ridge Road. Turn left onto Chestnut Ridge Road (there is a convenience store on the right side of the road) and follow approximately 1/5 mile. Site will be on the left. The site is very well marked. If you go under the railroad bridge, you've gone too far.
