Known World Beekeepers Gather at Pennsic 37

Beekeepers and prospective beekeepers throughout the SCA gathered at the first annual Beekeepers' Soiree at Pennsic 37 on Wednesday, August 7th.

The small gathering of SCA apiarists exchanged information and discussed issues of interest in the beekeeping community such as colony collapse disorder, swarm removals, treatments for disease and pests, harvest yields, getting started in bees, types of bees, and generally everyone’s overall success in keeping bees in these Current Middle Ages.

A few people brought samples of their honey, which ran the gamut from light clover to black goldenrod. Plans are in place for another gathering at Pennsic 38.
