Italian Renaissance garb exhibit in Washington, D.C. until July 31, 2008

The Italian Culture Institute in Washington will present Splendors of the Renaissance: Princely Attire in Italy until July 31, 2008. The exhibit is open by appointment only and I.D. is required.

From the website:

"Our exhibition aims at recreating an important aspect of life at Italian Renaissance courts: the attire of the nobility. Reconstructions of costumes from the mid-fifteenth century to the early seventeenth century bring to life the attire of rulers who used the art of costume, together with the visual arts of painting and sculpture, to enhance their status and proclaim their magnificence."
