Come one come all to Caer Galen Defender, the event one Crown called "The most fun you can have without fear of incarceration." Join us for a full weekend of the finest fighting, fencing, fun, and frolic in the entirety of the Outlands! Be prepared to exhaust yourself before sundown at the most beautiful site in the northern Outlands, Pickle Gulch.
Fight for the high honor that is the Caer Galen Defender, or help Their Excellencies cull the weak from Their list. Fence for the position of the Lieutenant of the Guard, or help Their Excellencies eliminate the slow from that pool. Try your luck at the Wheel of Fruit or the NEW Eat-A-Root game. Tell stories around the campfire, and partake of the spirit that makes Caer Galen the magical place it is.
The site is at 8,500 feet, so you'll probably want to bring sunscreen and drink lots of water. Consider this elevation TRAINING for the fields of Pennsic!
When: Friday, July 25th: Site opens at 3 p.m.,
Site Closes Sunday July 27 - high noon.
Where: Pickle Gulch Campground -- Near Central City/BlackHawk CO
Why: To choose Caer Galen's Defender (and have an uproarious time)
UPDATE! It has been told that our beloved Baron and Baroness of Caer Galen, Carrick and Katherina, are going to retire and enjoy the fruits of their intense labor. Their Stepping Down and Investiture of the New Baron and Baroness of Caer Galen will happen at Defender! Sir Bjarki Gulbjornsson and the LHL (lovely honorable lady) Asta Olafsdottir will be stepping up into these noble seats to become our Second Baron and Baroness *OF* Caer Galen.
(Don't worry folks, we won't let court interfere with ANY of our power-lounging time!)
Note: We have the WHOLE site -- Archers, bring your bows and shoot for a day!
