The Borders of Eskalya and Selviergard have both seen battles, and though the threat to test these borders has been subdued, the memories of those lost in battle have not. With these memories, comes the yearning to honor all those who have graced the war fields, and those who could not share this moment with us.
The Shire of Hrafnafjordr opens an invitation to come revel in the art of war. We wish to fight along side Infantry, Squires and Knights representing all of the Baronies, Shires and Colleges of Oertha, and hope that we can feel the might of those on Crusade, as if they were fighting along side us as well.
May Heralds be ready to witness the honorable deeds of Soldier and Commander alike. May banners fly to reflect the pride of Oertheans and the beauty of the Oerthean highlands. And may we take the field this day to build the skills necessary to keep Their Majesties borders safe. And when called off to war, may we bring home many stories and few wounds.
Battles will work in arrangements of teams with encouraged use of legions and three person units. For more information on unit organization go to- http://www.sca.org.au/bosenberg/resources/ ArtOfWar.pdf
Please take time to look over the Art of War document, and try to find opportunities to work in groups to build unit cohesion. An unofficial Sergeants trial will be held to choose unit command, based on knowledge of the Art of War document and honor points received in warm-ups.
An attempt will be made to keep sides evenly matched, but we will try to fit in some "Belts vs. No-belts" or similar scenarios just for fun. Warm-ups will consist of a shield wall push and an Ermine hunt (this will be like a gopher bopping game).
