Amazing to think that we just celebrated Jararvellir's 35th Anniversary considering I've been in the SCA almost 29 years an all of it here. It was a great day with lots of faces from the past coming out of the woodwork (either in person or in pictures or memories). Many joined us in wishing the Barony a happy birthday by attending many classes, including some wonderful scholarly classes by Duke Conn and Viscountess Kassandra and a whole track of classes designed to help us be part of "One Kingdom"; fighting for the Baronial Championships (congratulations to Lady Hroswithe von Lippe, the new rapier champion and Lord Robert the Stout, the new AC champion); exhibiting in the A&S display (congratulations to the new Baronial A&S Champion, Lady Sarra Romney); dancing; and attending a wonderful feast (YAY Connor!!!!). With the attendance of the Territorial Barons & Baronesses of all of the Northshield Baronies who brought or provided pressies to help celebrate the day (highlights of fishy pom poms and many other fun things from Caer Anterth Mawr, dyestuffs from Nordskogen, a wonderful array of delicious treats from Windhaven, and the financial support from Castel Rouge to pay the honorarium for our keynote speaker, it was once again proven that we have friends in abundance. Despite the chilly weather, it was a wonderful way to celebrate the conclusion of our first 35 years as we look to the future of many more.
