Pictures from Northshield's Bardic Madness

Bardic Madness is one of my favourite events and I really do look forward to it every year. The only thing that I regret is that it seems that many people don't realize that the bards need an audience that just appreciates the concept and you don't have to be a bard to come to the event. I heard at least one person, who has been in the SCA for years, say that she'd never attended because she cannot sing. She had a lot of fun and learned more about some people that she'd known for years and discovered newly found talent as well.

Whether the high point was Jose' doing a rousing rendition of Chandler's "When I Was Young" or Ysolt retelling Wyndreth's wonderful lay of the 2nd Coronet Tournament or Berwyn doing "If I was a Northshielder" to the tune of "If I were a Rich Man" from Fiddler on the Roof or Baroness Eithni making fresh "dorky" bread as her token for Authenticity's Delight or Cybele reminding some of us of our Horde history or HRM Lars telling us a tale of The Three Dukes or brand new members who were so scared they could barely speak but sang and played beautifully, or the bardic circle where we helped Darkstoners learn some of the songs every Northshielder should know or Dahrien...or Cerian...or Ingus...or the Northshield Choir...or the animated "Pass the Tail"...or the incredible feast by the Shire of Skerjastrond...or...HRM Lars joining in on the food fight...or HRM Lars holding up the phone so that HRM Mary could hear the lullabys that were written in honour of their new babe (or the tears in his eyes when he heard many of them)...or...or... (Yea, I'm missing a LOT but what can you say of a weekend filled with a dozen challenges, at least 40 participants, 8 classes, 2 bardic circles and a feast that couldn't be beat.) Yea, there was some snow and ice but hey, it's Northshield--what do you expect?
