Greetings unto the archers of Aethelmearc and the rest of the Known World. The Barony of Delftwood is elated to invite all to attend our Shoote in the Wildwoods Archery extravaganza. The gates will open at 5:00PM on Friday, August 29, 2008, and will close at 12:00 noon on Monday, September 1, 2008 at Wild Wood Sports Center, 5740 Fikes Rd., Elbridge, NY 13060.
There will be shoots on every day of the event. This event consists of Archery competitions, Thrown Weapons, the possibility of combat archery, and even a class on how to make a Roman Rising block crossbow. There will also be exciting and challenging novelty shoots. The nights will contain bonfires, night shoots and even the possibility of bardic entertainment.
The weekend tournaments will consist of the Seven Pearls Archery shoot, Barony of Delftwood Archery Champion, Barony of Delftwood Thrown Weapons Champion. But, just because they are the championships don?t think that they won?t be challenging and fun. With all of the Archery going on we can?t forget the legendary monster attack which we need the children of Aethelmearc to defend us from.
Lord Edward the Grey (Greyledge Archery/Diana?s Shaft Shop) formerly of the East Kingdom will be joining us for a Roman block cross bow making class. By the end of the class you can walk away with a crossbow, for target or combat, of your choice and the knowledge of how to make them. If interested please contact the autocrats before August 15th, about supplies, reservations, and FEES for the class. There is a deposit needed as well. There will be other classes to be determined later and a full list will be placed on the Aethelmarc list before the event. If you are interested in teaching a class please let the autocrats know and it can be scheduled.
We welcome merchants, please contact the autocrats as merchants space is limited. Wood for the campfires can be bought on site as they have a surplus of firewood. On Saturday August 30th, there will be a chicken bar-b-que, with corn, salt potatoes, and baked beans for $8.50 per person. For Sunday, August 31st there will be a lasagna dinner with a salad and Italian bread for $6.00. Breakfast for Saturday and Sunday will be pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage for $4.00 a plate. Lunch will consist of Hamburgers/cheese, hotdogs and venison stew, the prices for those will be determined by the site.
