"Age of Armor" and "Suburban Knights" at Woodson Art Museum

The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin is going medieval this summer with a series of exhibits highlighting medieval armor and photographs of SCAdians by California photographer E.F. Kitchen. Keith Uhlig of the Wausau Daily Herald has the story.

The main exhibit, Age of Armor, features a selection of historic armor from the Higgins Armory Museum of Worcester, Massachusetts. Another exhibit, Suburban Knights: The Warrior Mystique, showcases the work of California photographer E.F. Kitchen who "spent two years taking portraits of members of the Society for Creative Anachronism."

In addition, on May 17, 2008, the museum will host "Up in Arms: Exploring the History and Culture of Armor. The day will feature demonstrations such as hot-metal forging and lectures on such topics as how modern soldiers have adorned their helmets and body armor."
