Medieval exhibits and programs at State Library of Victoria

From 28 March until 15 June 2008 the State Library of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, will present The Medieval Imagination, a "spectacular free exhibition of medieval and Renaissance illuminated manuscripts celebrating the art of the hand-written book or manuscript."

The exhibit, which will display over 90 pieces dating from the 8th through 16th centuries, includes many manuscripts from Cambridge University's great collection. The Library will also present several themed programs that are open to the public:

  • specialist talks by curators and librarians;
  • a series of Medieval music concerts;
  • a Medieval Faire day; and
  • a series of free lectures on Medieval life, illuminated manuscripts and collections.
