After 20 years of searching, archaeologists have located a 12th century monastery beneath Hereford County Hospital. Archaeologists excavating a site near Hereford, England have discovered the foundation stones of St Guthlac's Priory, a 12th century monastery abandoned in the 16th century. 20 skeletons, believed to be medieval monks, have been unearthed and will be reburied in consecrated ground. The project must be completed quickly to make way for a access road to the hospital which is being constructed on the site.
