Archaeologists search for abbott's grave at Hulton Abbey

A team of archaeologists from Keele University are using the latest geophysical equipment to search the grounds of Hulton Abbey in England hoping to find the graves of the monks who lived there as far back as the 13th century.

If evidence can be found, the researchers plan to put together an excavation proposal for the area. Experts believe that the burial site may have held the graves of abbots, nobles and other high-status individuals.

The high-tech equipment tests for magnetic variations in the soil, which could be graves, without disturbing the site.
