80 archaeologists working on the site of Heathrow's new Terminal 5 have
discovered 80,000 artifacts dating as far back as 6,000 BCE.
During the 15 months of excavation on Terminal 5, over 80,000 objects were
discovered in the largest single dig in UK history. The artifacts included
thousands of pieces of pottery, flint and the only known wooden bowl from the
Middle Bronze Age. Evidence of settlements in the area dated from the Stone
Age, through Roman times and ultimately to the 12th century.
