Boston Globe: Antiquities dealer, Oded Golan, has been arrested for suspicion of forgery
after experts declared the ossuary box, brought to light by Golan, was a fake.
Israeli police have ended a six-month investigation of the ossuary box, brought
to the public eye by art dealer Oded Golan, with an arrest. Golan claimed to
possess the "bone box" which bore the Aramaic inscription: "James, son of
Joseph, brother of Jesus." Experts were immediately suspicious and further
study has shown the artifact to have been faked. Police have found other
artifacts at Golan's home which will now come under close scutiny.
