A virtual reality construction of an Elizabethan house lets visitors visit Hackney (near London) in the year 1601. The Rectory House, on the village of Hackney's Mare Street, is the setting for a video drama which tells the story of John and Jane Daniell, owners of the house, who were relieved of their home and possessions by the Crown in 1601. The drama is included on the website as is a virtual reconstruction of the house created from an inventory taken at the time. Other parts of the site discuss the London of Shakespeare's time as well as the town of Hackney.
