St. Basil's Cathedral on Shaky Ground

Following a three-year restoration of St. Basil's Cathedral, Moscow's most recognizable landmark, experts say that it may be necessary to strengthen the foundation to keep the building from collapsing. Natalia Almazova, whose company conducted an engineering study of the 16th century cathedral for the Russian government, said, "It won't fall down tomorrow, but if we don't take these measures, in 100 years we could lose it."
