Their Excellencies of Bjornsborg invite you to the grand tournament of Ursae-Lyons. October 19 - 21, 2007 When Lion and Bear contend whose sword at last shall bend?
The day of pageantry and noble deeds will begin with a grand procession. Their Excellencies Bjornsborg ask that each combatant be sponsored by an Artisan, who shall offer a small gift of his or her art to Their Excellencies as a token of their support. Fighters and their artisan sponsors will be presented to the Nobles and Ladies of the fields. Fighters will then be assigned to a field.
The combat schedule is broken into days.
- The first day will consist of challenge matches within their own field.
- The second day will have combat with lances.
- The third day will be open challenges between fields.
- The fourth day will have the bridge battle.
- The fifth day will be the mace/crest melee.
- The final day will be the champions battle.
Artisans are encouraged to present works based on a Medieval Bestiary. Their Excellencies and the Ladies of the fields will choose their favorites. Rumors abound that pumpkin carving will also be taking place.
