[ANT] Seagirt Yuletide

We bring you tidings of Yule in the Barony of Seagirt, which will happen on Saturday, December 8th. There are many changes this year, least of which is the location.

Yule will be held at Luxton Hall, at the fairgrounds in Langford, BC, a suburb of Victoria (directions will appear later on the website). Also, to celebrate the 50th birthday of our own Baron James, there will be a Baron's Birthday Tourney held that day, as well as a Games Tourney (for those who don't fight but wish to compete for His Excellency's entertainment!). We will also have a Feast, a Pageant, Tavern, Horse Racing, Cleavage Contest for the fairer sex (Baron James has stated that male cleavage is not fair) and many other fine activities.

This year's Yule will be from 9:00am until midnight.

We still need many volunteers (for gate, kitchen duty, set-up and tear-down, decorating, dayfood, etc...) to make this a memorable event. Even you sneaky out-of-towners are welcome to volunteer.

And speaking of contests...Luxton Hall allows no open flame (that means no bare candles!), so we will give a prize to whoever invents/constructs/cobbles together the most interesting lighting for their table. As period as possible, please, but concealed modern sources like batteries and electricity are permitted under the circumstances.

Our delectable, grand Feast this year will be created by HL Morgaine Essex. Tickets for the feast MUST be purchased in advance. The cost of each ticket is $20, which includes your gate fee but not your NMS (NMS to pay and waivers to sign at gate, if applicable).

We will also be holding a Yule Volunteer meeting next Tuesday, October 9th, from 7-7:30pm at Seagirt dance (Ukrainian Hall). Please come and sign up for one of the many fun activities for which we'll need your help. Even if you don't know how you'd like to help, come on out anyway and we'll find just the right job for you :)

Prizes for the Tournaments and contests are being made and donated by Seagirtians especially for Yule, and promise to be worth competing for!
