Medieval carnival brings British community together

Organizers of a medieval carnival to celebrate the renovation of Hulton Abbey in Stoke-on-Trent were delighted to find that it brought various community groups together.

"The event has been just what the community needs to bring it together. We need to do it more often," said Liz Adams, from ABC Residents' Association.

Various community groups took part in staging the festival, with a medieval theme chosen to complement the site's ancient heritage. Activities included "medieval reenactments, dance performances, music, a bouncy castle, stalls and refreshments."
