Geomancy, a medieval Islamic form of divination, pops up in literature such as
the Knight's Tale and Troilus and Criseyde. A website by Elizabeth Bennett of
Princeton offers tips and a program on how to understand the process.
Unlike some popular forms of divination known in the Middle Ages such as
astrology and palm-reading, geomancy is little known in today's western
culture. It is still practiced in the Arab world, however.
