Pennsic is an annual event, in the guise of a "War", between the Kingdoms of the East and the Middle of the Society for Creative Anachronism Pennsic is also the largest Society event, with attendance in recent years exceeding 10,000.
The Shire of Mynydd Gwyn is pleased to host one of the premier events in Insulae Draconis: come to fight, fence, shoot and dance to your heart's delight, on the grounds of a 15th century Welsh Borders castle.
Tis a beautiful place, well into the mountains bordering Rivenoak, so many trees that everyone can have a shady camp. The Feather River but a short stroll from your camp. Large Tree covered Eriks. A street of stores, nooks, craneys and balconies, oh what a wondrous battleground.
The Barony of Three Mountains hosts Archery Academy IV at Trojan Park near Portland, Oregon. Lots of classes and opportunities in archery, thrown weapons, and non-related things. Flat park with lots of shade trees. For details, see the web site, linked below.
While many of our friends and neighbors will be heading north in support of our beloved Kingdom, not all of us are about to expend the time and resources that a trip to Pennsic requires. So to those left behind, I would like to extend the invitation to a "Pennsic Pity Party".
