(event) Lonely Mountain Defender description: Greetings all good Gentles and be of good cheer for the great Lonely Mountain Defender draws nigh! Enjoy days of frivolity, fighting and fun in the lovely high mountain meadow. This year's event will include such delites as A&S classes (details to come), ax throwing, archery, heavy and light weapons tourneys and of course the Defender gauntlet. There will be Royal Courts, children's events, and dancing into the night. Saturday evening their will be a potluck in the meadow with the Shire of Drygestan providing the main course. Bring your best smile and come join us at this beautiful site for this joyous celebration Location: Shire of Drygestan (Los Alamos, New Mexico) (event) Great Northeastern War XX description: Great Northeastern War is an annual event sponsored by The Province of Malagentia, which is the Southern Maine chapter of The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. (SCA). It is a recognized SCA event, and all SCA rules apply. http://www.gnewar.org/ Hebron Pines Campground 400 Buckfield Rd Hebron, ME 04238 Hebron Pines Campground is site that caters to large weekend events for private groups. The site has a small bath house with flush toilets and showers, as well as a goodly-sized hall (suitable for holding court, or dancing, or what you will), and a limited number of pre-built firepits. Location: Province of Malagentia (Hebron, Maine) (event) An Tir July Coronation description: The Barony of Dragon's Laire welcomes all to witness the Coronation of the Heirs to the Mighty King Sven and the Beautiful Queen Signy as They take Their rightful places upon the Sable Throne of An Tir. This weekend of July Coronation also bears witness to the challenge required of all those who would compete to become the next Champion of An Tir. Other activities over the weekend will include Arts and Sciences displays (including a Phred), Archery and Thrown Weapons, other marshallate activities, Bardic performances of all kinds, as well as the many meetings usually associated with a Coronation Event. Location: Barony of Dragon's Laire (Port Gamble, Washington) (event) Baron's War description: There brews a conflict in these lands between two noble barons, their excellencies Ulric and Thorvald which centers around ownership of a certain relic found by a team of Loch Salann prospectors secretly searching in the lands of Arrows Flight. These two fearsome barons give a call to WAR - to determine who by right of combat and skill in the gentle arts will be allowed to lay claim to this relic. Their Excellencies call upon their cousins from the North, the South, the East and the West to come to their aid in this great battle. In addition to melee combat for the relic, individual prize tourneys will be held in both heavy and rapier, as well as a boffer tourney for the youth. It is Hunting Season again! For the sixth year the shire of "Ad Flumen Caerulum" opens the hunting season and once more invites all archers to celebrate the begin of the hunt with us. The archery competition will be held on a beautiful field archery course in the alps south of Vienna. This gives an opportunity to test your archery skills by walking through beautiful woods, trying to find the targets, and hopefully hitting them. Their Highnesses have chosen "The Crusades in the Lavent" as the theme of this Coronet. The Crusades in the Lavent involved most of the Christian nations bordering the northern coastline of the Mediterranean. These regions changed dramatically with various small "kingdoms" emerging and then being overtaken in the eastern part of the Mediterranean, as Muslims societies pushed into Anatolia (modern Turkey) and confronted the Byzantine Empire.
