When archaeologists excavated the Viking village of Birka near Stockholm, Sweden, they never imagined that filmmakers Mikael Agaton and Lars Rengfelt would make it possible to walk through the town as it was in the Middle Ages.

Cornish pasty wins E.U. protection

The ubiquitous Cornish pasty - a tough filled pastry with its roots in the middle ages - has been given official protection under the European Comission. It now has "protected geographical indication" status.
