12th century sgraffito pottery found in Bulgaria

Archaeologists working on excavation of a fortress on Trapezita Hill in the central Bulgarian town of Veliko Tarnovo have discovered a fragment of a 12th century vessel using the sgraffito technique. The very rare fragment bears the name and image of a person.

Midrealm college students to establish Medieval Society at Bowling Green

Bowling Green State University students in Bowling Green, Ohio have a long history of involvement with the Society for Creative Anachronism in the local community. Now, to bring medieval life back on campus, a group of students hope to create the BGSU Medieval Society. Michelle Olmstead of the BGViews has the story.
