Preserving Timbuktu's precious manuscripts

Due to the climate, it's common to find ancient documents in boxes or caves, or even hidden beneath the sand of Timbuktu, but now a push is on to save many of these precious manuscripts.

Early Bulgarian church draws tourists and archaeologists

Bulgarian archaeologists are working on the remains of the St. 40 Martyrs Church, "one of the oldest and most historically important places of worship in Bulgaria."

British historians hope to crack down on "nighthawking"

English Heritage and the British Museum are pushing for legislation to curtail the illegal use of metal detectors to discover and remove artifacts from private sites.
