Jarl Alfar of Attica was victorious in the Kingdom of Lochac's November Crown Tourney held in the Barony of Ynys Fawr this weekend. He fought for Mistress Gudrun, and defeated Sir Asbjorn Pedersen (fighting for Mistress Marienna Jensdottir) 2-0 in the final. Sir Asbjorn was the only combatant to reach the finals without sustaining a defeat.

Archaeologists have discovered "evidence of a substantial Roman villa with a mosaic floor in the main room" in the Quantock Hills of Somerset, England. The site is one of the most westerly Roman villas yet found in England.
