The Barony of the Steppes is proud to present our Artisan event on August 16th, in which Steppes will host not one, not two, but three yes three Arts and Sciences Competitions.

The premier is for our titled Artisan of the Steppes, and is a body of work competition. The second is for anyone that has not ever won a competition title from any Barony, Shire or Canton; single entry only with limited documentation. Join Shire of Dragoun's Weal as we once again host an event dedicated to the Chivalric virtues of Honor and Courtesy as well as the Art of Armored Combat.

Selviergard is having a Family Day at the Mat-Su River Park on Saturday, 2 Aug. We have Pavilion A reserved for the whole day. There will be lots to do for all, including but not limited to: fighting, A & S, children's activities, chit chatting.

[ATL] Journey to the Crusades

description:
Journey to the Crusades will be coming on September 19-21, 2008 to Pleasant Grove in Palmyra, Virginia. There will be a Central War Practice along with rapier, lots and lots of archery (with an archery target competition), youth armored combat, and cavalry with tournaments and jousting. There will be other A&S competitions as well.

description:

I will be hosting a day for the crafting of arrows for both target and combat archery. We will also have a garbecue and a showing of the Battle of Agincourt and the Longbow for those that are able to remain later. Come in garb and bring any arrows to be fletched.

Arts and Crafts in the Mead Hall

description:
Fighters, let your consorts inspire your to greater valor and chivalry, all to make them this year's Lady ( or Laddie! ) of Love and Beauty! This year's Protectorate Tourney is only open to local fighters, but the Prize Tourney is open to all. There will also be a Rapier Tourney. All Protectorate entrants must have their consorts present to be eligible, per Crown Tournament Rules.

[WES] West Kingdom Work Party

description:
There will be a work party at Ed Levin Park on Sunday July 20th from 10am to 2pm.

The park would like us to paint kiosks and help dispose of some black plastic tarping. Since we have used up most of our volunteer credits for the year any and all help would be greatly appreciated. [EAS] Coronation of Darius and Alethea

description:
We are pleased to announce that the Coronation of Darius and Alethea will be held on Saturday, September 27th, in the Barony of Carolingia (Lexington, MA).

The fee for the site will be $10 per adult (non-members will be charged an additional $3). Children aged 11-18 will be charged $5, children 10 and under are free, and students with a valid ID are $9.

Last chance to practice before Pennsic! The shire of Eisental is once again hosting an East Kingdom War Camp at the Ukranian Homestead in Lehighton PA. There will be heavy weapons melee using the war scenarios, as well as archery, fencing, and thrown weapons. We also have space for siege weapons and gunnery. No organized children's activities are planned.
