Lords and Ladies of the Outlands, the Baron and Baroness of Dragonsspine invite you to come enjoy a Winter Feast. There will be a bardic competition during the feast, and the Staff of Dragonsspine's Bard will be passed on to the next Baronial Bard. There will also be a competition for the best winter-themed table, and there will be dancing after feast and court.

It is said that the Carnival of Venice was originated from a victory of the "Repubblica della Serenissima", Venice's previous name, against the Patriarch of Aquileia, Ulrico in the year 1162.  In the honor of this victory, the people started to dance and make reunions in San Marco Square.  Apparently this festival started on that period and become official in the Renaissance.

Excavations at the Roman town of Venta Icenorum at at Caistor St Edmund, near Norwich, England, are changing minds about life in 5th century Britain. The discovery of an Anglo Saxon building "showed the site was far more complex than first thought, and not solely a Roman settlement."
