Accidental death in Tudor England

Oxford University historian, Dr. Steven Gunn, has undertaken the task of scouring 16th Century coroners' reports to compile a list of accidental deaths in Tudor, England. The list includes death by bears and archery accidents.

"We Have Dragons" in Drachenwald

The Dragon's Needle Embroidery Guild of the Kingdom of Drachenwald has posted an update on its latest project for 2011: "We have Dragons." Each participant embroiders a 20,0 x 20,0 cm patch featuring - what else - dragons!

New Heirs in Ansteorra

The Shire of Adlersruhe and the Barony of Bonwicke hosted the Summer Crown Tournament to decide the Heirs of Ansteorra on July 9th.  Duke Sir Aaron MacGregor claimed victory over Jarl Hrafn Olafsson in the finals. His Grace was inspired by Dona Amelot Lisette de Blammont.

Yazida bint Zarif offered Peerage in the Outlands

Furukusu Masahide, Blue Iris Herald for the Kingdom of the Outlands, reports that at Their Enduro event, Their Majesties Bela and Anna have placed Yazida bint Zarif on vigil to contemplate elevation to the Order of the Pelican.

Peers made at Double Wars

On her Flickr photo website, Lia de Thornegge reports that Their Majesties Vitus Polonius and Eleanora created three new Peers at Double Wars 2011.

Double Wars XXIV photos online

Frau Anna Syveken and Lia de Thornegge report that they have created albums of photos from Double Wars, which took place recently at Tostarpsgårdens Lägerområde in Tyringe Sweden (Kingdom of Drachenwald). The photos are available on Flickr.

Nottinghamshire documents to go online

Land records, court rolls, and maps of Nottinghamshire, England are being made available to the public online for the first time. Some of the documents go back as far a the 13th century.
