M. Moleiro in Barcelona, Spain is offering a facsimile edition of the Isabella Breviary, a 15th century illuminated manuscript given to Isabella the Catholic to commemorate the double marriage of her children, Infante John of Asturias and Infanta Joanna. (photos, video)

A team of archaeologists has discovered the remains of a Roman amphitheatre, on par with the Colosseum in Rome, near Vienna, Austria. The site, they believe, was also a training school for gladiators.

Leon Humphreys, of Bury St Edmunds, England, failed to notify the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) that his Suzuki motorcycle was off the road, incurring a UK£25 fine, but instead of payment, Humphreys demanded the ancient right to trial by combat.

After a three-year restoration project, the 13th century Tree of Fertility fresco in the small Italian town of Massa Marittima was ready to view, but art experts had some problems with the restoration work when they noticed that testicles and phalluses hanging from the tree had been removed.

In 12th century Scotland, the "tolbooth or praetorium was the office from which the provost and baillies organised the running of the newly-created burgh." Now archaeologists believe they have found the remains of the tolbooth in St. Andrews.
