Dig hopes to uncover bones of 14th century Scottish bishop

A team of archaeologists is hoping to find the remains of Bernard of Kilwinning, the 14th century Scottish bishop who drafted the Declaration of Arbroath. The team is excavating a medieval monastery in the Ayrshire town of Kilwinning.

Debora of Durham elevated to Laurel in Ansteorra

Mistress Radegund reports that her apprentice Debora of Durham has been elevated to the Order of the Laurel by Their Majesties of the Kingdom of Ansteorra.

As reported on the Kingdom list, Morgan Olander fighting for the honor of Lusche della Casiago, was the victor of the October 9, 2010 Crown Tournament in the Kingdom of Northshield.

Master Phillip Reed the Facetious, Seneschal of the East Kingdom, has announced that the list of combatants and their consorts for the upcoming East Kingdom Crown Tournament is now available to view online.

"Rare and exquisite" Roman lantern found in England

21-year-old metal detectorist Danny Mills delighted local archaeologists when he discovered an extremely rare 1st - 3rd century Roman lantern near Sudbury, England. The bronze lantern is believed to be the only one of its kind in Britain. (photo)
