Renaissance Faire

his is the 16th year that Cote du Ciel is hosting a Renaissance Faire to benefit the community center where we have our weekly practices.  This Faire is one of the ways in which we "pay" for our use of the building. This is NOT an SCA event.

Heroic warriors, prepare for a day of glory, battle, blood, and fun! The Order of St. Aiden has teamed with the Barony of Storvik, Jewel of Atlantia, to host a day of melees. Bring your band of brothers and test them against the Order of St. Aiden! Classes and authorizations start at 10:00am with combat at 12:30 onward.

Cave scanning project includes Robin Hood dungeon

The dungeon where, according to tradition, the Sheriff of Nottingham held Robin Hood captive is to be laser scanned as part of a new project. Archaeologists at the University of Nottingham will scan all the caves in the area during the two-year Nottingham Caves Survey. 

Medieval tent documentation and construction

Stephen Bloch and Deborah Peters have created a website to discuss the creation and documentation of medieval pavilions. The website, Deborah and Steve's Plausibly Medieval Pavilions, chronicles the pair's construction of medieval tents, as well as sources used for research on period tents.
