Archaeologists have found the remains of houses dating to the 14th century in the Espoo district of Mankby, Finland. The discovery has excited the archaeological community, since late medieval villages are a rare discovery in the country.

The citizens of Northport, Alabama were promised a day of "blacksmithing, baking and armored men sword-fighting" recently as members of the Okeborne Keep Shire of the Society for Creative Anachronism came to town. Brian Reynolds of the Tuscaloosa News has the story.
