Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain recreated a custom dating to the 13th century recently by handing out "Maundy Money," a tradition of doling out coins to pensioners. (video)

In the last exhibit of a series on emperors, the British Museum will present Moctezuma: Aztec Ruler which reveals elements of the mysterious life of the last emperor of the Aztecs. The exhibition will run 24 September 2009 to 24 January 2010. (photos)

The Outlander, a film released in January 2009, follows the wreck of an alien space craft in 8th century Norway, releasing a futuristic soldier and a bloodthirsty monster into the Viking world. The trailer is available on YouTube. (video)
