To combat the time of penitence and abstinence which is soon upon us, the Barony of Highland Foorde invites one and all to a day of foolishness and frivolity. We plan to feast -ALL DAY- play games, listen to bards tell stories and sing songs, dance, laugh, did I mention eat, and drink. We invite our friends for a last day of gaiety before the Lent begins.

As the cold grips the land of Their Majesties, Jason and Gerhild, the Shire of Border Vale Keep offers warmth and grand company at Midwinter's Tale - A Norse Journey! Traditionally we have held this event as a day trip, but this year extend our welcome for the whole weekend. In honor of Their Majesties we will have Norse themed martial activities and encourage Norse themed A&S items. Please don't forget the heart of Midwinter's Tale and bring your sagas to relive!

Come with us and tumble down the Tunnel of Time from the beautiful Barony of Delftwood in Syracuse NY, into the streets of medieval Siracusa in Sicily! The Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins will make its' appearance on Saturday, February 7th, 2009, within the Ukrainian National Club, 125 Washington St, Auburn NY, 13021. Doors will open at 9:00a.m. and close promptly at 11:00 p.m.

Henry VIII: "the man who really invented England."

Historian and curator David Starkey hopes to give those visiting the new exhibit on the life of England's King Henry VIII a fresh look at the monarch. Starkey said the exhibition would go beyond most people's perceptions of Henry and find "the man who really invents England."
