That's right, Septentria is going to be 30 this year! To kick off the year long celebration, come and join us at Spring Tune Up V-Septentria's 30th Birthday! This will be a 3 day GREAT HALL event. This means that our guests will be invited to spend the night in Caer Draeth's spacious great hall. Bring your blankets, sleeping bags, or maybe a cot to sleep on. Sleeping areas will be communal but what the heck, that's what they did in the real Middle Ages. Location:

DAY of BLOOD, March 29th, 2008 Now that the Shire of Hrafnafjordr has awoken from its winter rest, we would like invite all to take part in our annual Day of Blood tournament. The Barony of Calafia wishes to cordially extend an invitation to the entirety of the Knowne World to join us once again for a weekend of fighting, frolicking, and revelry in the shade of the beautiful oak trees of Potrero.
This year we have added an extra day to the Potrero War experience. Gates will open at 10am Thursday for those who choose to spend an extra day with us and at 8am Friday for all other attendees. Attending Thursday will cost an additional $5 for adults and children over the age of 13, but only an additional $2 for children between the ages of 6-12. Children under the age of 5 continue to be guests of the Barony. There will be combat scenarios or tournaments on Friday.

Princeton University Library's Department of Rare Books and Special Collections has acquired the Sarmas Collection of coins from 13th-14th century Greece. The 800-coin collection will "help researchers deepen their knowledge about a period of Middle Age history that has been little understood by scholars."

The state of South Carolina's institutional libraries have banded together to create a website containing the digitized images of over 100 medieval manuscripts, including eight nearly complete codices. The site is searchable by country, century, and also content.

Now this exhibition is on display at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna and will end soon: POMP AND GLORIA! Carriages of the Princes von Thurn und Taxis began at Sep. 19, 2007 and runs until Feb. 28, 2008 at the Wagenburg, Schönbrunn Palace.
