[EAL] Spring Tune Up V: Septentria's 30th Birthday

That's right, Septentria is going to be 30 this year! To kick off the year long celebration, come and join us at Spring Tune Up V-Septentria's 30th Birthday! This will be a 3 day GREAT HALL event. This means that our guests will be invited to spend the night in Caer Draeth's spacious great hall. Bring your blankets, sleeping bags, or maybe a cot to sleep on. Sleeping areas will be communal but what the heck, that's what they did in the real Middle Ages. Location:

Medieval documents help locate Roman fort

Archaeologists working on the excavation of a Roman fort near Calstock in Cornwall credit references to silver smelting in medieval documents for helping to locate the site.

Renaissance Faire Auditions

This year we have added an extra day to the Potrero War experience. Gates will open at 10am Thursday for those who choose to spend an extra day with us and at 8am Friday for all other attendees. Attending Thursday will cost an additional $5 for adults and children over the age of 13, but only an additional $2 for children between the ages of 6-12. Children under the age of 5 continue to be guests of the Barony. There will be combat scenarios or tournaments on Friday. Location:

Princeton acquires Sarmas Collection

Princeton University Library's Department of Rare Books and Special Collections has acquired the Sarmas Collection of coins from 13th-14th century Greece. The 800-coin collection will "help researchers deepen their knowledge about a period of Middle Age history that has been little understood by scholars."

Known World Players announce auditions for Pennsic 37's "Medea" production

THL Tyzes Sofia (called Zsof) has announced that audition times have been set for the Known World Players' production of Medea which will take place at Pennsic XXXVII.

SCA Position Opening - Corporate Treasurer

The Board of Directors is accepting applications for the position of Corporate Treasurer. This is a part-time, paid position, which requires approximately 5-10 hours per week except when finalizing the yearly budget.

An archaeological dig in downtown Berlin has uncovered evidence that the German capital is at least 45 years older than had previously been established.

England's lost city of Dunwich has become a region of interest for underwater archaeologists who want to explore the medieval city. Britain's "Atlantis" was lost due to coastal erosion and rediscovered in the 1970's.
