[ATL] Journey to the Crusades

Journey to the Crusades will be coming on September 19-21, 2008 to Pleasant Grove in Palmyra, Virginia. There will be a Central War Practice along with rapier, lots and lots of archery (with an archery target competition), youth armored combat, and cavalry with tournaments and jousting. There will be other A&S competitions as well.

Conde Fernando Rodriguez de Falcon reports that once again a company of artisans will be setting up active Arts and Sciences demonstrations in the middle of the merchant area at the Pennsic War.

SCA family needs help

SCA member and bard Joe Bethancourt of the Kingdom of Atenveldt reports that four-year-old Avery Lubrecht, the daughter of an SCA fighter, is now fighting for her life. The little girl has Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome (PRES), a life-threatening disease that requires extensive medical treatment. You can help.

Johanna reports that, at the last Court of Their Majesties Sven and Jovi of Drachenwald, Earl John Peregrine of Restormel was placed on vigil in preparation for elevation to the Order of the Pelican.

Kids "hooked on the Middle Ages"

Spectators strolling through Norlo Park in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania July 4th weekend, were surprised to find their park peopled by the lords and ladies of the Middle Ages when the local chapter of the SCA hosted its annual Renaissance Fair.
