1500-year-old Saxon burial promises more discoveries to come

Archaeologists working at a recreational site near Oakington, England have discovered a 1500-year-old Saxon burial. They believe there is also evidence of a settlement.

Drinking songs for the Roman "Apres Slaying Party"

SCA heraldic history found in the West Kingdom

Hirsch reports that Minutes from the Proceedings of the College of Heralds/Arms meeting of February, AS IV (1970) have recently surfaced in the West Kingdom. He believes that the minutes are from the second heralds' meeting of the SCA.

Thomas Whitehart to be featured on Weekend America

Baroness Katarina Peregrine reports that the Intermuseum Conservation Association will present a free six-part program to "introduce the public to the field of conservation and the wide range of materials and information that conservators work with, while highlighting care and handling of personal artifacts and family heirlooms."

Shake off the doldrums of the winter past as once again, the Armies of the East rally to prepare for War! Come, all soldiers, to the fields of Owlsherst to hone our armies' battle skills. The discovery of a 2nd century BCE coin in Cornwall may change how pre-Roman Britons are viewed. The pre-Roman Republic silver coin proves that active trading took place with the inhabitants of Britain before Rome conquered the island.
