Twelve starting gates from the Roman Circus at Colchester, England have been discovered by archaeologists who have been working on the site since 2004. The gates operated like "greyhound traps, unleashing the charioteers on to the quarter-mile long opening stretch of the track."

Archaeologists in Trondheim, Norway have discovered the remains of a stone watchtower built in the 12th century during the reign of King Sverre. The tower is believed to have been five stories tall.

At Gulf Wars, Their Majesties Padruig and Linnet of Gleann Abhann vigiled THL Ulric Blackoak (called Uric) at kingdom court on Friday night and knighted him upon the field on Saturday morning.

Three tournaments and possibly a melee or two held by Don Govanen Blackwell for those who are all about the fighting, Tournaments such as “Epee only”, “Schlager only”, and a “Burning Deck Tourney”

The Barony of Nottinghill Coill invites one and all to attend the fourth Tournament of Chivalry and Baronial Investiture on 21 April 2007, in Bennetsville, SC. Come join us as the young adults of Atlantia host a day of tournaments to celebrate martial prowess, chivalry and the investiture of Nottinghill Coill’s new baronage.
As the focus of martial activities, Atlantia's Knights shall challenge any who would face them on the tournament field in a variety of weapons forms. A small area shall also be available for those who wish to ply their skills outside of the tournament. Though no points will be kept during the tournament, Her Majesty and her Ladies will be casting watchful eyes upon the field, and taking particular interest in chivalric acts. Prizes shall be awarded for valor and prowess.

Come to the North's premiere war event. War, war and more war! The War also includes tournament, A&S competitions, fencing, jousting, archery, feasting, war, drinking and much merriment. This is a fully catered event from Friday night soup kitchen to Monday lunch.

Spring is such a wonderful time for our Kingdom to gather in friendship to acknowledge the reign of Gunther and Kora and to witness the investiture of a new King and Queen! Please join us for a day filled with feasting, reveling and friends and enjoy the White Rose Ball, which will offer dancing entertainment and delicious bounty to satisfy every taste.
Heavy combat will take place on Saturday morning, however, no rapier combat will be held at Coronation. The Queen's Rapier Champion tourney will be at Crown List on May 5th.
