Friedrich Ethelred aus Schloss Trier, Internal Publicity Deputy for Estrella War XXIII, announces that the Special Events Schedule has been added to the event's website. Maps of the new site are also available online.

Seahenge not ready for display until 2008

Seahenge, a 4000-year-old wooden circle which appeared on a beach near Holme, England in 1998, will not be available to be viewed by the public until 2008, according to curators at the Lynn Museum where the artifact is being restored.

Flower of Battle: Knightly combat in Medieval Italy

On January 28, 2007, Prof. Rachel Fulton of the University of Chicago, The Chicago Swordplay Guild, and The Armour Research Society will present a seminar and workshop in Chicago, Illinois.

A Market Day A Birka

Crosston Dance Ball

Tower of London hires first female Beefeater

For the first time in its 522 year history, the Tower of London will enlist a female Beefeater. The name of the new Yeoman Warder has not been made public, but she was chosen from a group of six applicants, five men and one woman, as the "best candidate for the job."

Midrealm armorer prides himself on period look and feel

Several years ago Midrealm subject and machinist Ben Scheiner learned he would need armor to take part in SCA fighting in the Barony of the Fenix. Now he has parlayed the hobby and his flair of metalworking into a fulltime job as an armorer. The Cincinnati Enquirer has the story.

Douglas D. Anderson has created a website of ancient Christmas music "to preserve the rich history of Christmas carols and hymns which might otherwise be lost." The site includes both lyrics and MIDI files of the music.

Jamestown 400th anniversary in 2007

For six days in June of 2007, the residents of Norfolk, Virginia will celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Jamestown Colony with "military, maritime and cultural activities" designed to showcase the best of the region.
