You are invited to attend Jour d'Amour III: Viking Love and experience a weekend of fun and friends. Get your team together for the IRON GARB II competition! We are also hosting a skaldic competition and a tablet weaving contest. Come see the beautiful Valkyries escort heroic warriors off the field of battle!
As this year's event has a Viking theme, many of Shire of Drakenmere will be wearing Viking garb to help set the stage. We invite all who wish to participate by wearing Viking garb to please do so! If you need some simple patterns for ladies' wear, they can be found here: Viking Apron (can be worn over a simple T-tunic or over the Viking Underdress), Viking Underdress, Viking Cap. Viking brooches and other accessories can be found at Raymond's Quiet Press and other places on the Internet.

Once again House Serpentius and House Wilmot, under the generosity of the Barony of Bhakail and the Bailiwick of Ivyeinurst, are sponsoring a celebration of all things involved in hitting! Last year's event was such a success, we have already outgrown our site. This year's site has a much larger area for fighting, fencing and merchants! the only thing this site does not have is free parking -- the parking costs $8/day for a lot with an attendant and $5/day for a lot without an attendant, as a result, House Serpentius will cover the entire site cost. THE EVENT IS FREE! Location:
Barony of Bhakail (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

Archaeologists are working to re-create a Roman "superglue" used to stick silver laurel leaves to legionnaires' battle helmets. Traces of the glue were discovered on iron helmets found near the German town of Xanten which were buried in river mud for more than 1500 years.
