Estrella War will once again be hosting its Grand Ball! This event features some of the best live musicians and dance masters from the Known World. Last year the ball had over twenty-five musicians and six kingdoms represented.
The Deposition of Sir John Sully, Iddesleigh, 1386

14th century English knight Sir John Sully was buried in the Church of the Holy Cross in Exeter, England after dying at the advanced age of 106. His great age is documented in part by a deposition in which he discusses his long military career and some of the battles in which he participated. The website includes a transcript of the deposition.

Constructions workers in Cologne, Germany have discovered a 3rd century stone tablet dedicated to the god Jupiter. The tablet is just one of over 10,000 artifacts unearthed from the construction site.

Come join us for a wonderful day of heraldry and scribal arts taught by Northshield's finest! Bring your personal and group's heraldic banner, books, illuminations, and any heraldic/scribal crafts (tablet woven belts, blackwork, etc...) to display and share in a “show and tell” session! There will also be a full day of children's activities.
Please contact the Class Coordinator if you are interested in teaching a class (or if you have a class you would like to see taught). Deadline is February 26th for submitting a class.

8th century ship found in Mediterranean Sea

An 8th century shipwreck, discovered off the coast of Dor, Israel in the Mediterranean Sea, is believed to be the only existing ship of its kind. Discovered over a decade ago, the wreck has been the subject of intensive study and carbon dating.

Isabel de la Haye will bring a "ceremony" that will read by contestants COLD.
