Yule, the feast of light! Once again we will celebrate the return of the sun. This year's feast will include games, dancing, and A&S classes. Don't have a mask for the 12th Night Masquerade Ball yet? Come make one with us. After dinner there will be a White Elephant trade. Please bring a wrapped toy as well as one wrapped gift for every member of your party. (We will be donating any extra toys to Toys for Tots.) Location:

Winter has come to Winter's Gate and it is time to celebrate Yule, with the fun merriment and good company. There will be the traditional Winter's Gate gift exchange. The feast is potluck so bring a yummy dish to warm our bellies. The competitions will be warm beverages to fight the cold winter's night (note site is DRY), also warm winter attire to ward off Ye Old Man Winter (Full outfits, cloaks and accessories). Celebrate Yule with a day of games, entertainment, and food. We will provide the meat for the feast and the rest will be potluck-style. Using your mundane last name: A-G, salads or soups; H-N, side dish; O-Z, desserts. There is no main theme, so just share your favorite Medieval delight. There will be competitions of Best Decorated Table, Best Toast, and a candy guessing game for children and adults. There will also be a Silent Auction. The Blue Bowl cooking competition will be any dish containing a winter vegetable. A Toys for Tots barrel will be at the location and anyone who brings a donation will receive 5 chances for our door prizes. Location:

Raise a glass of warm cheer and revel in our winter wonderland! To honor the Prince and Princess of the Mists, our very own Brion and Ysabella, we challenge our honored guests to help us create a visual feast of green and white, our very own winter wonderland. Best table decoration will win two tickets to the West Kingdom 12th Night! Put on your finery and dancing shoes! Dancing with instruction will take place after dinner. We will be having a silent auction, so bring your checkbooks. Beautifully-themed evergreen wreathes and ornaments will be available for the lucky winners. We invite you to celebrate the holiday season with us at our Jingles Feast. Come and enjoy fantastic food prepared by Master Fionn Mac Pháil. Can a fighter accomplish a cartwheel in full armor? Well... maybe. Mike Prahl gave it a try in 40 pounds of plate as he demonstrated his skill along with other members of the Shire of Rivenwood Tower in Mankato, Minnesota. Free Press reporter Sara Gilbert Frederick had the story.

At Kingdom University in Drachenwald this last weekend, Lady Stella Seraphina von Leuchtenberg was elevated to the Order of the Laurel (for her cooking arts) and Lord George Fitzhume was elevated to the Order of the Pelican by King Michael and Queen Moira.

On November 11, the Middle Kingdom's "Bardic Madness" event attracted performers not only from the Midrealm but also from as far away as Northshield, Ealdormere, and Aethelmearc. SCAtoday.net's own THL Milica of Varna, ever the consummate Chronicler, was there with her camera.

At the upcoming Twelfth Night/Coronation celebration in the Kingdom of the West, Viscountess Elisabeth Renee de Champagne will be elevated by Their Majesties Rolf and Aurora to the Order of the Pelican. The elevation will take place January 6, 2007.
