Blackwater Keep Defender

Are you a pansy, a dandy, or is your liver gilded? Do you need to stay indoors with air-conditioning at 68 degrees? If you answered "Yes," then you should stay home, because men and women who are tougher, stronger and better than you will ever be, are incapable of completing our competition. Remember just stay home and try not to over tax your frail and weak constitution. Last year over 50% of our contestants dropped out due to heat and or exhaustion! If on the other hand, you crave a challenge, long for the struggle of combat and desire to test your fortitude; come vie for Blackwater Keep Defender. P.S. We will feed you till you pop, if you are so inclined.

Winter War VII

The Shire of Trinovantia Nova Renowned throughout Vast Tracts of Land as the Most Loyal Subjects of their Beloved King and Queen Once Again offer their hospitality to their Kingdom for The Seventh Great Winter War.

Double Wars XIX

Once again all inhabitants of the known world are invited to the event of the year, Double Wars, hosted for the nineteenth time in the beautiful shire of Attemark.

Saint Torvaldr's Day

On April 22nd the Barony of Vinhold will be holding the 3rd and last Saint Torvaldr's Day Celebration. At the end of June, Torvaldr Torgarson will be moving out of the Kingdom of the West to Ohio and the Midrealm. We invite you all to come to Saint Torvaldr's Day and celebrate with him, and allow him the opportunity to say good bye to you all.

College of Three Ravens

Readin', Writin', and 'Rithmatic, while indeed meritorious subjects of study, are NOT among those being offered at The College of Three Ravens. Classes will include a myriad of topics on historical practices, as well as those regarding our Society's activities in these Current Middle-Ages!!! Subject matter includes scholarship in the finer arts, specialized sciences, and medieval combat (yes, fighting classes, too!). Plus, there will be ample opportunity to actually practice these many pastimes (pun not intended). Education, Fencing, Fighting, Dancing, Drumming, and more will surely sate the intellectual and competitive cravings of adults and children alike!

Chicago festival brings together reenactors from many eras

At a hotel in Arlington Heights, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, SCA members joined reenactors from other times from Roman to mid-20th century at Reenactor Fest: A Convention for the Ages. Chicago's Beacon News reporter Mike Dahaney has the story.

West Kingdom to Host Party & Tournament at Estrella XXII

Friedrich Ethelred aus Schloss Trier, Estrella War XXII Internal Publicity Deputy, has announced that the West Kingdom will host a party at the West Kingdom Encampment during the Estrella War. It will also sponsor the Mad Dog Tournament.

SCA 40th Birthday Celebration at Estrella War XXII

Friedrich Ethelred aus Schloss Trier, Estrella War XXII Internal Publicity Deputy, has announced that there will be a 40th birthday party for the SCA at this year's Estrella War.

Medieval Cemetery Found in Leicester

A construction company, making way for a new shopping mall, has discovered a large, medieval cemetery near the English city of Leicester. The cemetery appears to have been in use from the 12th through 16th centuries.

New exhibit on medieval secular books at the Getty

"The Medieval Bookshelf: From Romance to Astronomy" will be on display at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, California, through April 9.

16th Century Tudor Chapel Found

A Tudor chapel, originally built by Henry VII, has been discovered at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, England. The original vault has been found completely intact.

Estrella War to host Laurel (and apprentice) combat prize list

Maestro Domingo has announced that there will be a Laurels Combat Prize Tournament at Estrella XXII.

Charity "Sheep to Shawl" in the West Kingdom

Collette de Rayncheval has announced that she will be hosting a Charity Sheep to Shawl over President's Day Weekend. Scarves created during the weekend will be donated to a local battered women's shelter.

After Katrina, Barony of Axemoor welcomes Known World back to fighter practices

THL Byron DeLancy, the Knights Marshal at the Barony of Axemoor in New Orleans, reports that the Barony's regular fighter practices are "back up and running" as the area continues the long recovery from Hurricane Katrina.

The gentles of the Barony of Caer Anterth Mawr and the Shire of Ravenslake are very excited about this years’ camping event. We have planned many activities. The site is the same as last year and it absolutely beautiful.

We are surrounded on three sides by a lake where there is a beach for swimming. There is a hill with trees that adds to the fun of the fighting field. We will again be sponsoring heavy, light and children’s combat and archery. There will be A&S classes and activities and merchants selling their wares. Location:
