Pirates Raid the Shores of Ealdormere

The infamous pirate captains, Bloodfox and Willow, once again raided the coasts of Ealdormere! "Cap'n" Colyne Stewart was aboard one o' yer Jolly Roger ships, an' lived to tell the tale. Arrrr!

A Simple Day of Fun

On the 15th of October, come help us welcome potential new members of the SCA with the most seductive fun we can possibly manage! For the day's (and evening's) entertainment, we have reserved the beautiful, medieval Marstall and castle grounds in the historic old city of Steinheim (Hanau).

Cynaguan Fall Coronet

Their Highnesses, Alvar and Megan, invite the populace to a week-end of Chivalry and Honor as the Principality of the Cynagua holds its Fall Coronet Tourney. The Coronet Tournament is a festive and grand occasion; Their Highnesses encourage all fighters and consorts to bring banners to add to the pageantry and splendor accompanying the lists to find to determine Their Highnesses' successors.

Fasching

When do you think Mardi Gras starts? Welcome to the Opening ceremonies of what is known as "The Fifth Season". The gentles of Barony Endless Hills invite you to attend a traditional German celebration of the fall, otherwise known as Fasching.

Manuscripta Conference at Saint Louis University

On October 14-15, 2005, Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, will host a two-day medieval manuscript conference featuring speakers from all over the world.

Cowgate Proves to be Extremely Rich Medieval Site

The 2002 fire which devasted part of Edinburgh's Cowgate district opened up a treasure trove for archaeologists with the discovery of hundreds of 15th century artefacts, making the site on a par with medieval sites in London and York.

Innilgard Winter Collegium

As it has been a very 6 months for our Barony, this years Collegium is a one-day affair with such wonderous classes and information that is worthy of skills of Innilgard's artisans. We also invite all good gentles of Lochac to come, learn and enjoy! It is also hoped that there will be rapier and heavy fighting classes held in the hall's grounds. As always, the collegium is in garb.

English Heritage to Save Doddington Stronghouse

A 16th century stronghouse, built during Northumbria's border wars with the Scots, will be saved thanks to an UK£80,000 grant from English Heritage. The structure is located on a working farm near Doddington, England.

Iron Age Woman Found in Denmark

The skeletal remains of an Iron Age woman have been discovered in an ancient grave site near Copenhagen, Denmark. Believed to be from the 5th century, the woman was buried with her jewelry.

Day at the Races II: Race to the New World

1550s Spain: Christopher Columbus may have been the first to journey to the New World, but these days it seems every explorer worth his salt is either looking for or holding letters of marque to carry them to a place called the Americas. They have high hopes of bringing back riches and glory. Ponte Alto wishes to commend Spain for its vision to sponsor the first voyage to this wondrous new land. Therefore, we have planned a day of Feasting and Celebration in honor of Spain and the intrepid explorers who followed Columbus' lead.

Octoberfest

The Barony of Wealdsmere invites you to a day of Tournaments and Feasting. We will be holding our annual Toys for Tots Championships. These include a heavy and fencing tourney, as well as an A&S, Bardic and Games competition. The cost to enter any of the tourneys or contests is a new, unwrapped toy. Also, anyone who is not entering a contest may feel free to donate!

Harvest Celebration IV
