Drumin Castle to Re-Open to the Public

Drumin Castle, the 14th century home of the notorious "Wolf of Badenoch," is set to re-open to the public after extensive restoration. The fortress is located on the Glenlivet Estate in Moray, Scotland.

Cookie Wars

The Barony of Knight's Crossing invites you to the annual Cookie Wars. This year there will be a continued conflict between medieval and modern sweets. There will be war points for heavy weapons combat, fencing and archery. (Please note that there will be an additional fee for use of the archery range to be paid to the site.) There may also be tournaments depending on the number of people present.

Equus Bellator

Unto the Equestrians of Drachenwald and their retinues do the horsemen and women of Insulae Draconis send greetings and invitation to attend an Equestrian Collegium and Competition in the fair Shire of Thamesreach. On Saturday there will be training in mounted skill-at-arms; we will behead our enemies, tilt at rings, impale pigs and try our lances at the quintain.

Silent Heralds Needed to Aid Chirurgeons at Pennsic

Lord Calum Munro of the Kingdom of AEthelmearc has announced that the Chirurgeons are seeking warranted Silent Heralds from around the Known World to work on a project to aid the Chirurgeonate at the Pennsic War.

Duchess Marion fitz William Placed on Vigil

Magistra Nicolaa de Bracton announced that Duchess Marion fitz William of the Kingdom of Ealdormere has been placed on vigil to become a member of the Order of the Pelican.

Reenactor Injured in Restaging of Battle of Northampton

British reenactor Kieran Robb was injured recently during a living history restaging of the 1460 Battle of Northampton. Robb was struck in the face and was reported in critical condition.

SCA Charitable Activity Database Created

Master Adam Stedefast, Deputy Society Seneschal, has announced that he will be creating a database to track charitable activity within the SCA. The deadline to report is July 31, 2005.

Abandoned "Skidbladner" to Find Permanent Home in Shetland Islands

The Skidbladner, a 26 meter replica of a Viking longship, abandoned after a failed attempt to sail to North America, will find a new home on Unst, the most nothernly of Scotland's Shetland Islands.

Ealdormere Attends Her First Trillium War

Every summer for the past twelve years, the Canton of Ardchreag has hosted an event on the Canada Day long weekend. Originally, it was called Septentrian War Practice, named after the barony Ardchreag resides in. Then, when Ealdormere was formed, the name was changed to Ealdormere War Practice (perhaps better known as EWP). This year the event evolved yet again. As Lady Þorfinna gráfeldr put it, the past twelve years were practice—this year, its war!

Hartstone fighter to honor SCAdians in uniform at Pennsic War

Lord Wulfr Drachenhand, of the Shire of Hartstone in Aethelmearc, will hold the field against all challengers on three days at Pennsic, as a tribute to SCAdians serving abroad in the Armed Forces.

Gladiator Games Attract Tourists in Jordan
